Weekend Update 7/9/23

Hello and welcome to the Weekend Update!

Here are some of the things that went on this week. And if you aren’t already, be sure to follow me on Instagram @b.styled, Facebook, and in the free, private #justgetdressed VIP’s Facebook Group.

And don’t forget to grab the  ….Outfit Prompts start up again tonite, 7/9 at 7:30pm, so you’ll know what you’re wearing tomorrow morning.  You can can get up, get dressed (looking great, and maybe try something new) and get on with enjoying your day.

1. Summer Accountability Group – Time for a Reset?

After about 10 days with a houseful of 20-something young men and lots of fun (not to mention loads of sand, laundry and beer cans) I’m ready to get back into a routine and my healthier lifestyle. I think time off and vacations are so key and I refuse to feel guilty or beat myself up for going off the rails a bit with my habits and routines. The time is so valuable and special, and guilt just takes away from it all and is so unnecessary.

The key is to hit the reset button as soon as possible — like tomorrow (or today if you’re so inclined, but to me Monday just makes more sense, right??)

I also think that taking action when you start to feel yourself slipping into bad habits is key to changing the pattern and snapping out of funk.

If you need a summer “reset” and some accountability to get back on track or start some new healthy habits and routines, I invite you to join my free Summer Accountability Group. It’s filled with wonderful women who will lift you up, encourage you, commiserate with you, and share great ideas and tips related to health, beauty, fitness, organization, cooking, etc.

2. Do the days seems to just “get away from you?” Need a system and strategies to manage your time to have a better day?

Do you have a plan for managing both the demands and the F.U.N. of your summer?

Or are you winging it and hoping for the best?

I tend to be a “winger” when it comes to my time…

But I also know that when I have a plan (and I work the plan), I get more done, and end the day feeling so much better.

But the best part of having a plan is that it gives me more free time to do the summer activities I love without throwing all my goals and responsibilities out the window.

My friend and Time Management expert & coach, Dr. Carol Perlman is offering her signature Time Management course starting July 10th to help us create a plan so we are intentional about our time this summer.

The simple idea is to work productively when it’s time to work, and then create plenty of time to play and enjoy summer. A win-win.

I know it’s possible, but it’s easier said than done.

This course gives us the direction, strategies, and skills to make it happen.

If you’re an alum like me and need a refresher, she is offering a special discount code: ALUM

The course has changed and evolved over time, so even if you took it a while ago and you need a reboot, you will definitely glean new nuggets and insight.

3. Heads up — The (much-hyped, but actually very good) Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is-a-coming!

To help you navigate this somewhat overwhelming annual sale, I’ve started a catalog with my personal favorites.

Find it here, and bookmark it to refer back.

The start date for the sale will depend on your access level…You can get all the info and dates

This sale creates A LOT of internet hype because it’s on hot, NEW, FALL items…..But, keep your wits about you and be prepared for items to sell out – and remember, that’s NOT the end of the world;)

Focus on quality items that you need or really, really want and have several ways/places to wear them.

Just because it’s popular or “hot” doesn’t mean we need it -right??

My advice is to spend some time in your closet before the sale starts and look for glaring “holes” in your wardrobe basics…

Make a list of key pieces that are worn out, dated, and need replacing or refreshing.

My favorite categories include white tees, undies, bras, denim, boots, jackets/outerwear, and sneakers. Boring? Yes. Important? Indeed.

Use the wishlist feature now to combat impulsive, willy-nilly shopping when your date comes around.

Thanks for being here today, and have a great week ahead….

Get some stuff done, do something fun, and #justgetdressed.

xo, Beth
