Weekend Update 4/16/23
Welcome to the first edition of my Weekend Update “housed” on my website. I’ve had this great website for years but rarely use, look at, or point people to it. I told my favorite web designer, Liz Lee, “It’s like having a gorgeous beach house and never going to it.” Well, summer is coming and I’m going to the beach — and committing to using my website.
The benefit to you, my readers, is that you’ll be able to head to ONE PLACE to find past newsletters and posts – and I hope you find that helpful. It’ll take some time to get things up and running, but this is a good first step.
DONE not Perfect is my new fav motto;)
So, thanks for being here, and now for what went on in B.Styled world this week….

2. Updating A Classic Spring Outfit Combo
With the ongoing popularity of the Coastal Grandmother look (I prefer to call it Coastal Chic – since its appeal is unrelated to grandmother status). It was inspired by Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give and is marked by a casual aesthetic with lots of tans, whites, linen and light blues. You can get all the details here.
Tan and white looks have been around forever…in fact, it’s one of the combos I remember Mary wearing my entire life. This week in the Spring Style System we played with this look and here are some variations. I used the CAbi Traipse Trouser (sold out in many sizes) but I’ve seen some influencers recommend these Amazon pants. Or chances are you have some tan/white/olive cotton. pants you can sub. If you don’t, and you want some, I can help you find them in the spring group.
I’m wearing a white slub t-shirt (old from Peach -) and added several toppers from my closet. Anything still available is linked below.
(FYI, it’s not too late to join the SPRING program. We start up with Outfit Prompt #1 on Monday 4/17! Click to grab the planner and join the program). This season, I am also including my Closet Edit Bootcamp for free with the Style System Purchase!
Navy Ponte Jacket
Blue Cardigan
Similar Neutral Sandals
Black Sandals
Similar Nude Sandals (key with wide-leg pants)
2-in-1 Necklace
Coral/Pink Ponte Jacket
Striped Sweater
Striped Sweater (Budget Option)
Platform Flats with Tortoise Buckle
3. Denim Find!
I was looking for a pair of full-length, wide-leg/flare jeans at an affordable price and tried this pair with low expectations – Amazon is so hit or miss, especially with jeans. I was pleasantly surprised by these. They are incredibly soft, and have great stretch but maintain their shape – and the length and rise work well for me (10″ rise and 32″ inseam). I got them in size small in the wash called “indigo medium blue” fyi!
Magenta Pullover
Jeans
Pattern Bustier/Tank
Booties
That’s it for this week! Are you a member of my free #justgetdressed VIP’s Facebook Group? No? Well, you should be;) Click here to join! I’ll be sharing some before and after pics of the new house this week… It’s coming along!
Have a great week and remember to #justgetdressed.
