When a member of the Style System private Facebook group found these hot pink satin pants, I felt morally obligated to try them. Well, #targetdoesitagain, and I love them…even if I have nowhere to wear them right now. Many other members bought them too and were asking how to style them, so I took a slew of pictures with various looks from dressy to casual-chic. As I was doing this exercise it became crystal clear that the key to styling such a statement item is having the perfect BASICS in place. As a matter of fact, every look below uses one of the 10 Basics from my Essentials Guide – you can grab that guide HERE.
These pant have limited availability depending on your location. Here is another available option and here’s another budget option.
BUT the point of this is NOT that we all need to run out and buy hot pink pant. The point is that if you do have a statement piece – whether a bright colored pants, or a fabulous jacket or stand-out top — without BASIC ESSENTIALS it will be impossible – or at least really difficult – to find ways to wear those statement pieces. Here are some ideas for styling colored dress pants (or really any colored bottom) in several ways for work or play…(and sorry the pictures are cut-off..trying to fix that..ugh).
